Prillaman earned the Defensive Most Valuable Player award for the tournament due to this performance; Matt Collins winning the tournament Most Valuable Player award. Matt pitched in three separate games, made spectacular plays at short stop and was one of the top offensive players in the tournament; and Team defense paying off - the Hitmen did not commit an error in any of the final three games.

Supporting One of Our Local Athletes as He Battles Cancer
Gavin Rupp who has played Little League baseball in District 16 with Dulles Little League and recently played on the Briar Woods Falcons 7th grade team. Baseball is his first love. Gavin was diagnosed with cancer and has recently been told that there are no more options. NVTBL has encouraged teams to wear orange ribbons in honor of Gavin.
The Sandlot Stixx 13U Grey team played in a tournament in Hershey, PA and finished in 2nd place. The boys made the poster you see in the picture and hung that up in the dugout all weekend. Some of our players go to school with Gavin so they decided they wanted to give him the plague we received. They presented the plague and the poster to him recently. It was a tough tournament, but it was really not about the players as they dedicated the tournament to Gavin.
We've had teams wear orange ribbons on uniforms (see FCA Power Varsity team below), on bat bags, on the back of baseball caps and one team is considering orange tipped mohawks!
Regardless of how you support and honor Gavin's fight, we know that there are a lot of teams and athletes behind Gavin and his family!
